Together For Jasper: Community Support

We know how great our tourism community is at coming together and doing everything we can to support each other. Now, it is time to pull together again to help the tourism industry in Jasper as they face a shut-down of their businesses and a rebuilding of their community.

Below are ways to support Jasper through fundraising efforts and evacuee offers.

Fundraising as an Industry

Together for Jasper is a tourism industry initiative to help direct fundraising initiatives to the Canadian Red Cross. Why the Red Cross? From now until the end of August, donations received by the Red Cross will be matched by both the Government of Alberta and the Federal Government. So, for every $1 donated, it will turn into $3 for the Jasper community.

Fundraising Examples

Here are some creative examples of how tourism partners are directing funds to the Red Cross:

Additional Support Ideas

For more inspiration, we’ve listed some thoughts starters below:

  • Donate $1 from a select menu item, tour, attraction, or merchandise item.
  • Offer a special ‘Stay & Support’ accommodation package for the month of August.
  • Create a new brew or special cocktail dedicated to supporting Jasper.
  • Host a fundraising pancake breakfast.
  • Provide employment to displaced tourism and hospitality workers.

Any other examples or ideas? Please share with us how you are supporting Jasper.

In-Destination Support for Evacuees

Evacuees are being welcomed in Calgary, and we are so proud to see tourism partners, community organizations, and Calgary Hotel Association properties supporting Jasper residents, visitors, and temporary workers displaced by the fires.

Offers for Evacuees

While we wait to learn more about the re-entry program for Jasperites, here are some offers for evacuees from Calgary’s tourism industry:

Please share with us any other examples of how you are supporting Jasper evacuees.
