Choosing your date
Here are a few things to keep in mind when choosing a date for your event in Calgary:
Got your eyes on July? Keep in mind that for ten days at the beginning of each July, the annual Calgary Stampede takes over the city, meaning hotels and venues may be booked up far in advance. We'll always work with you to figure out what is going to be best for your event.
Calgary winters offer exciting outdoor opportunities for skiing, snowboarding, dog sledding and dancing under the northern lights in the nearby Canadian Rocky Mountains.
Calgary summers are hot, dry, and bring plenty of adventure as well. Calgarians love to spend time outdoors, especially during warmer months, and there is plenty going on with outdoor festivals and events.
Spring and fall are mild and full of potential. Shoulder seasons typically mean more hotel and venue availability.
See what seasonal events and activities align with your desired timing.

We have access to sources of funding to help you meet your budgetary requirements. We will review your needs and assess your financial requirements, and seek funding on your behalf. Just ask us how we can help!

Canada Customs
Canada Customs makes it possible for your material to clear customs following its arrival in Calgary. Calgary is a destination fully capable of handling large shipments of material from the U.S. and around the world. The on-site customs facility clears convention goods at the show rather than at the border, ensuring that your goods are not delayed when they arrive in Canada. Visitors entering Canada must present a valid passport and, in certain cases, a visa.
For more information, please visit the Canada Border Services Agency site or contact one of our member Customs Brokers .
International Events and Convention Services Program
You can take advantage of Canada’s International Events and Convention Services Program (IECSP). Canada is the only country in the world with this type of program that was developed by the federal government to encourage organizations to hold their meetings in Canada. The program facilitates the movement of goods into/out of Canada.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s Special Events Unit
If you are organizing an international event or meeting and need help facilitating delegates’ entry to Canada, register with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s Special Events Unit and get the support you need to plan a successful event.
