Riders navigate a closed course track around a city block with a series of obstacles, like rocks, logs, gravel, sand, and mud, on an all-terrain motorcycle that will leave your ears buzzing with excitement. All this action attracts the best professional and amateur riders from around the world, ready to face off in this extreme sport where they’ll risk it all to be the best.
That’s right, admission is free! Take in all the action at this one-of-a-kind event in downtown Calgary and you don’t even need a ticket. Spectator areas will give you a great view of all the live motocross action you can handle. The first day of competition takes place in Olympic Plaza with practice sessions beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the final rounds taking place at 2:00 p.m.
Are you a motocross superfan? Day two of Red Bull Outliers competition takes place in Steveville, Alberta, on August 27, and welcomes spectators, with three races, starting at 9:00 a.m.

What makes day one of Red Bull Outliers so unique? It all takes place in the heart of downtown Calgary at Olympic Plaza. Imagine the speed and extreme action of motorcycle racing surrounded by the architecture and energy of downtown Calgary. It’s like an action movie come to life, right in the middle of the city.
This one-of-a-kind course in downtown Calgary is a custom-built track by local pro rider Shane Cuthbertson. Growing up in Alberta, Shane is a veteran motocross rider of over 20 years and has competed around the world. Now, he brings all those skills and thrills back home to Calgary with a city centre track in the heart of downtown.
Red Bull Outliers is a family friendly event with a safe viewing area to catch all the action. There are no tickets required to attend. Sports fans of all ages will love to experience this unique event. With food and drinks available on site, you can spend the whole day watching motocross action with everyone in the family.
Motocross is a popular sport in and around Calgary, with the local Wild Rose Motocross Association welcoming as many as 30,000 riders to their events each year.
