Disc golf is one of the fastest-growing sports in North America and Calgary has become one of its premier destinations. The City of Calgary has invested heavily in disc golf infrastructure creating some beautiful - and free - courses. The sport is easily accessible and inclusive of people of all ages and skill levels. Local Disc Golf Shops 

To play disc golf, you need a set of discs, which typically includes a driver for long distance throws, a mid-range disc, and a putter​. Looking to buy or rent discs? Check out one of these great local disc golf shops! 

 

Disk Golf Courses 

No need to book a tee time, these courses are first come first serve. Just bring your own discs, sunscreen, and water! 

Baker Park Disc Golf Course 

Located on the banks of the Bow River across from Bowness Park, the Baker Park Disc Golf Course is a local favourite and one of the best maintained courses in the city. The course features 18 holes, concrete tee pads, plenty of parking, and public washrooms. 

Location: 4320 Bow River Pathway 

Difficulty: Moderate

Currie Reservoir Disc Golf Course 

The Currie Reservoir Disc Golf Park is a centrally located course that features everything from straight away fairways to obstacle covered holes that make this course a bit different and more of a challenge than the average track. Play 18 holes (including a designated practice area), with nicely kept grass tees. 

Location: 2725 33 Ave SW 

Difficulty: Moderate 

 

Lindsay Park Disc Golf Course 

The Lindsay Park disc golf course is conveniently located behind the MNP Centre in central Calgary. The fun and easy course is the disc golf equivalent of a ‘pitch & putt’ and is great for beginners and families. The course features 18 holes, grass tees, and parking at MNP Centre.  

Location: 2225 Macleod Trail SE 

Difficulty: Easy 

 

Bonavista Downs Community Disc Golf Course 

Conveniently located off Bow Bottom Trail in SE Calgary by the Bow Bottom Baseball Diamonds, the Bonavista Downs Community Disc Golf Course is a great spot for beginners looking to try out the sport. The course features 11 holes, concrete/ turf pads, and parking by the diamonds. 

Location: Lake Huron Crescent SE 

Difficulty: Easy 

 

David Richardson Memorial Disc Golf Course 

The David Richardson Memorial Course in NW Calgary’s Royal Oak community is a higher difficulty tournament level course with many technical holes on the front 9 and some long drive fairways on the back. The course features 18 holes, outdoor turf pads, a large parking lot (a short walk from the course), and public washrooms. 

Location: 27 Royal Vista Dr NW 

Difficulty: Hard 

 

Edgemont Disc Golf Course 

Located in NW Calgary, the Edgemont Disc Golf Course is a par 3 track that is perfect for players of all ages and abilities. The course features 11 short par 3 holes, concrete/ turf pads, and free parking. 

Location: 1237 John Laurie Blvd NW 

Difficulty: Easy 

 

Thorncliffe Disc Golf Course 

The Thorncliffe Disc Golf Course is a 9-hole course that is a great spot for disc golfers to practice their game. Located in a small valley in Calgary’s Thorncliffe Neighbourhood there are a fair share of long to short holes to get the most out of your round. The course features 9 holes, concrete pads, and street parking. 

Location: 5600 Centre St N 

Difficulty: Moderate 

 

Big Marlborough Disc Golf Course 

The Big Marlborough disc golf course may not be as fancy as others in the city, but it is a perfect place for beginners to practice or try out the sport. The course features 12 holes, concrete tees, and nearby parking. 

Location: 5904 Madigan Dr NE 

Difficulty: Easy
