Why Go
Only eight minutes from the Banff townsite, Mount Norquay has been offering year-round family fun since 1926! In summer and fall, relax and ride a seven-minute chairlift over natural grizzly and black bear habitat to a sightseeing walkway. Once you have reached the top at 2090 m, have a seat in the Cliffhouse Bistro and savour unique flavours and stunning views. If you're feeling adventurous, experience the Via Ferrata, a bucket list assisted climbing experience with tours ranging from two to six hours. You and your guide will climb ladders, cross a suspension bridge and experience unbeatable aerial views of Banff. Enjoy a guided tour and rent an e-bike from Bike Banff, located at the Banff Train Station. Between December - April, you can ski or snowboard 60 runs spread over 190 acres of varied terrain. In peak season, enjoy the only night skiing opportunity in Banff National Park. Norquay is your winter activity center, boasting Alberta's largest snow tubing park, winter sightseeing and a network of snowshoe trails.
What's Great
It's long been a popular destination for Albertans who like to get out on the slopes, especially families. There are runs for beginners, intermediates and experts, so the whole family can spend the day out in the mountains. Norquay also operates a world-class snow school that offers daily lessons along with multi-week programs for both adults and children. The Lone Pine Pub offers a full menu and is the spot to be in Banff for après ski.
Local Tip:
Free shuttle service provided from Banff in summer and winter. Norquay's Activity Booking Centre is conveniently located at the Banff Train Station.
