When the Calgary Flames score a goal at the Scotiabank Saddledome, actual flames shoot up toward the ceiling. It's the kind of spectacle anyone rooting for their home team would want to see again and again, and Flames fans greet every pyrotechnic display with raucous cheers.
Since their run to the Stanley Cup final in 2004, the Flames have been a fan favourite, packing the seats at the 'Dome as well as those in bars along what's been famously known as "The Red Mile" along 17th Ave. S.W.. From October to April, hockey lovers watch "their" team make a bid for the playoffs, hoping to make their time on-ice stretch until the finals in June.
