With Calgary hosting the CCMA’s 46th annual Country Music Week, it becomes the show’s most frequent host city at ten times. There is a rich history of country music in Calgary and with infrastructure like Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, there is tremendous optimism for the future. Calgary’s reputation as a music hotspot has been reinforced by the forming of the Music Mile, a 1.1 mile stretch of road through two of the city’s trendiest neighbourhoods, that is packed with venues, restaurants, and galleries.
Hosting the CCMA’s is a true city-wide collaboration. Tourism Calgary sits on a hosting committee with numerous other local partners to ensure that the event is executed successfully. By working together Calgary has been able to continuously attract large cultural events like the CCMA’s.
