The Selkirk Grille is named after a powerful steam-locomotive that traversed the Rocky Mountain’s Selkirk Range in the 1950s. Today, you’ll spot the Selkirk Grille near its namesake locomotive just outside the gates to Heritage Park – Canada’s largest living historical museum.

It’s fitting that the Selkirk Grille’s menu, under the direction of executive chef, Jan Hansen, serves up Rocky Mountain-inspired cuisine featuring the best ingredients from several provinces. Alberta raised beef and game, duck from Quebec and West Coast seafood are combined with seasonal greens, forming a confederation of deliciousness for your palate.

The Selkirk Grille is set just outside the entrance of the impressive Gasoline Alley Museum, an exhibition space devoted to cultural transformation the introduction of the car had on western Canada. The restaurant’s sandstone bar, wooden-slat ceiling and large windows will wisk you back in time to Calgary at the turn of the century.
