Discover How the West was Once at Heritage Park Historical Village. The Park has a lot to offer both the history buff and the pleasure seeker, alike. It's the perfect balance between historical fact, adventure, discovery - and of course, fun - that makes our story of western Canadian settlement so distinctive. With 127 acres, 180 exhibits, an antique midway, paddlewheeler and authentic steam train, there is more to explore!
Heritage Park Historical Village, Canada’s largest living history museum gives you an authentic taste of Western Canada from 1864 through the 1950s. The Park tells the significant, vital story of the settlement of the west and how the western landscape formed the cultural foundation of Westerners today.
The Historical Village offers an authentic experience from three key periods: the 1860s fur trading era, 1880s rustic pre-railway settlement and the bustling 1910 prairie railroad town.
Heritage Park brings the sights, sounds and adventure of Western Canada's past to life. Ride the thundering steam train, take a fun-filled trip to the antique midway, visit the world-class Gasoline Alley Museum, climb aboard the S.S. Moyie paddlewheeler, savour baked treats from the Alberta Bakery, enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride and so much more! Don’t forget to say hello to the friendly period-costumed townsfolk who bring history to life.
