From the splendour of the Rocky Mountains to the heart of Destination Africa, The Calgary Zoo takes you to see over 1,000 animals from around the world. Trek through the gorilla’s rainforest, safari over the Savannah to watch the hippos swim, or climb the Canadian Wilds for a grizzly bear encounter! Finish your world tour with a trip back in time in the Prehistoric Park or soothe your senses in nearly 6 acres of our Botanical Gardens. Relax in the new ENMAX Conservatory and enjoy the butterflies and seasonal displays.
Open 9am to 5pm year round (closed Christmas Day).
Get tickets for the Calgary Zoo
The Calgary Zoo is only minutes from downtown and accessible by public transit and LRT with ample parking for all vehicles inlcuding buses, coaches and RVs. Eateries, retail shops, wagon/stroller/wheelchair rentals are on-site. Several kids playgrounds on grounds including the new Calgary Coop Kids Zone which will open in June featuring a new carousel. Zoo Train rides for the wee one's and daily interpretive programming for everyone. Group tour, private function and parties facilities available as well as full-service catering. Don't miss our themed special events that happen all year round or our weekly Safari Sunday Brunch.

Whether it's during your daily visit and enjoying one of our daily nature talk programs or special programs such as Behind the Scenes with Tigers, or an annual event, a single's night, a special exhibit or one of our many registered programs, the Zoo is your destination for education and entertainment!Enjoy a travel lecture, take a gardening course, or enjoy a Sleepover Program where you camp out at the zoo! Kids' birthday parties, learn about enrichment and make a toy for one of our animals, thrill the wee ones with Storytime, or check out our Summer Camps for kids ages 4 to 17.
