Arts Commons

Home to five resident performing arts companies, Arts Commons is a year-round hub of activity where over 1,800 events and 600,000+ visitors are hosted annually. To grow its ability to bring the arts to life, the organization is also actively pursuing a facility renewal and expansion project that will upgrade infrastructure, help address Calgary’s performance space capacity deficit and increase access to artistic celebrations.

The Canadian Sport Institute (CSI) Calgary partners with local, provincial and national sport organizations and agencies to support over 300 thriving local sport organizations and world-class venues in Calgary. Events hosted in these facilities foster a greater sense of community engagement, while building Calgary’s reputation as a mecca for high performance Olympic and Paralympic sport training. The impact of these efforts can be seen in the 533 World, Olympic and Paralympic medals CSI Calgary and its volunteers have helped athletes win since 1994 – a feat that could not be accomplished without the opportunity to compete on home soil.

As the only Canadian stop for the annual PGA TOUR Champions, Shaw Charity Classic engages visitors and Calgarians and contributes an annual $11.9 million to Calgary’s economy annually. This unique event generates profile for Calgary by hosting some of the greatest names in golf, and by reaching audiences from across North America through broadcast on networks like the Golf Channel. As a community contributor, Shaw Charity Classic has donated over $22 million to children and youth-based charities in Alberta and set records for charitable giving on the PGA TOUR Champions.
